Had the pleasure of dining at an authentic Italian restaurant in Georgetown, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! It started with a complimentary basket filled with different types of fresh bread, which was such a delightful touch. The Caesar salad was crisp and refreshing, and the classic meatballs tasted as if they were made in a cozy Italian kitchen - warm and homemade. But the real highlight of the meal was their special: "One of President Clinton's Favorites" - linguini with lobster meat in their signature Creamy Cardinale Lobster Sauce. It was simply magnificent - rich, creamy, and so flavorful. I can definitely see why it's been a favorite since 1983! Highly recommend if you're looking for a dreamy Italian dining experience. Closing thoughts: This would be the perfect spot for a nice date night. Delicious food, but I did think it was on the pricier side and would only go for special occasions.

Holy cannoli, I am going to be thinking about this place and this food for a very long time. I think this might be it, the best dish I've ever eaten. I got the linguini with lobster sauce per my servers recommendation and it was SO GOOD. And such a large portion! Can't wait to eat those leftovers...

Very good! Went here with friends a couple months ago. Service and ambience were very good! I did like the food as well, pasta tasted very fresh and the portions are great to share! We loved the desserts as well! Thank you for a great meal! Would absolutely recommend!!

Filomena is practically a tradition for me-- it is always the first place I go for dinner whenever I'm in town. I'm really pleased to see that they have survived the pandemic and have retained all their charms (long live the Pasta Mammas!) and quirky decor. The service is always stellar and the food spectacular. Some of my favorites over the years include: their Linguine Cardinale ($60.99), Festivale in Venezia ($60.99), and Risotto Agli Scampi ($46.99). Their lobster cardinale sauce, which is featured in both the linguini cardinale and the shrimp risotto, is absolutely phenomenal. Rich, creamy, sweet from the seafood-- it is unlike any other sauce you've tried. I will say the risotto has a stronger brandy taste, with extremely large and succulent shrimps. You will wholly and unequivocally love any of the three (though the linguine cardinale is my absolute favorite). On my most visit, we also tried the Sausage Cannelloni ($40.99) which was made fresh and in-house. I did think the sausage was a little overseasoned but the pasta had a great chewy fresh texture. The portions are super generous and I always end up leaving with leftovers. It is also highly imperative that you order dessert too! Their cake slices are huge and delicious, and the perfect accompaniment for the complimentary sambuca and amaretto served at the end of your meal.

Try this for DC Restaurant Week if you've never been! Meatballs and Vodka Pasta are must tries! Thoroughly enjoyed the richness of the Oreo cake as well. However, I was expecting more from the Caprese salad Overall, this a spot every DMV resident should try! Service is also amazing, I personally just do not love that it is in a basement.

I had forgotten how great this place is! It's been at least 25 years since I've been to Filomena, and I wouldn't have thought about going if my daughter hadn't picked it for her birthday dinner. Their portions were even larger than I remembered, and I had forgotten how tasty it was. The kids and adults enjoyed everything. For appetizers, we shared an order of Burrata and both kinds of Calamari (fried and broiled). That, along with their assorted breads and delicious dipping sauce, would have been sufficient. However, we didn't stop there and also ordered entrees. I had the Sausage Cannelloni, which was enough for dinner and a couple of lunches afterward. Everyone left with similar-sized leftovers. The service was excellent, and Fernando, in particular, did a fantastic job. Given the quality and quantities, the prices were reasonable. We're not going to wait another 1/4 century before going back.

We went for restaurant week and despite it being a weekday the place was packed and multiple people waiting around for a table. The noise level is definitely high, but the energy is contagious. The bread and oil were a perfect start. The salsicce di casa was incredible - two huge, flavorful sausages! I got to try the mozzarella di caprese and that was fresh and tasty. I then got the gnocchi della mamma for my entree. The gnocchi was amazing with the sausage. I tried the rigatoni where the pasta and sauce were spot on. The only downside was the chicken on the rigatoni was a bit dry, but I didn't order it. For dessert, I got the tiramisu which was a classic and delicious, and then I tried the dark chocolate mousse was rich and satisfying. The complimentary after-dinner drink was a nice touch where you had the option between amaretto or sambucha. The servers were attentive. Overall, one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to and highly recommend.

I have been meaning to come here for so long, so I was really happy to find out that it does not disappoint. The sheer amount of options this place has, had us debating on what to get for so long. Luckily, our waiter was super friendly and had so many great recommendations. We ended up getting two seafood dishes - the ravioli di chiacchieri and linguine cardinale. Both were cooked in the same lobster sauce and were absolutely delicious. The portions are super huge, so even though the price is a bit high, you're definitely getting enough to take home as leftovers. For dessert, we got the strawberry cheesecake, and it was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had, super light and we devoured it even after a heavy pasta meal. The restaurant itself is super bustling and packed. Unsure if the lighting is like this everywhere, but it was super red where we sat, which was a vibe but also felt pretty dark as some of the older guests around us were using phone lights to read the menus. You definitely should get a reservation before coming as it's a very popular spot. We came for dinner on a Sunday night and it was pretty loud, the tables are situated pretty close to each other, so definitely don't expect a quiet dinner coming here. Otherwise, great place, super speedy service, friendly staff, and amazing food!

I can't say enough good things about Filomena. A coworker recommended this restaurant (stating it was her all-time favorite penne a la vodka) so we stopped in for lunch after shopping all morning. Everything we ordered was so delicious: the calamari was crispy, the penne a la vodka was flavorful and the marsala sauce was so good I wanted to lick the plate. Our waiters were quick and efficient. The decor reminded us of being in Florence and we heard that the most fun time to visit is during the holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas) because they go all out to decorate! 100/10 recommend.

This place was so cool to come too. It seems like it was located in a very popular area with a lot of small shops/restaurants. There is some street parking but also a parking garage across the street which is where we parked. It was very convenient. Make sure you make reservations weeks in advance or you will not eat there. I doubt they can take walk-ins because it is so busy. We had reservations and was seated immediately. The place was crowded. The tables were really close together which made it hard for you to get in and out of your table. I'm pretty sure it was a fire hazard the way they had the table so close. That was my only complaint. We received the bread with the oil. It was so good. They give you 3-4 different kinds of bread. We ordered the meatballs and the arcani as appetizers. They were both delicious. I will say we pretty much got two meatball appetizers. The arcani was almost like a bread meatball. My meal was the Tortelloni di Michele. It had a really good flavor but I did think there was too much beef inside the tortellini. I feel like it was missing something on the inside like cheese or veggies or something. It was good but I wouldn't get it again. My favorite part of it was the sauce on top. All in all good. It is a great spot to come too especially with seeing the lady that is making the pasta fresh when you first walk in. That is pretty cool. You may want to use the bathroom before you sit down because it will be hard to get out. You should try this place when visiting the area.
